Butterfly & Moth Watching Holidays
Butterfly Garden in Pench National Park forest was created not only to shed some light on butterflies in pench but also to understand interesting facts about their life and how they support our ecosystem. It also added a generous amount of deed to the available kids’ activity in Pench. Once there, you can see many colourful butterflies and observe how these fascinating and colourful insects begin as larva and evolve into their flying adaptations. A Sustainable Environment is conducive to the growth of butterflies; If your surroundings don’t have moths, butterflies or spiders, it means that your habitat is degrading, polluted and not conducive for a healthy lifestyle. We want our guests to not only support but reimplement our initiatives so we can ensure our biodiversity remains intact and we can save our planet earth. The butterflies and moths are symbols of a quality, healthy and green ecosystem.
BUTTERFLY
BEHAVIOURS
Roosting
When the environment turns dark, due to impending rain or sunset, butterflies will seek out shelter among the thick vegetation for protection from rain or forest. They can be seen hanging, wings down on the underside of the tree branches and under the protection of large leave.
Basking
Butterflies spread out their wings or perch at sunny areas to soak the heat from the sun to adjust their body temperature before starting flight.
Puddling
Watch out for butterflies around pools of water on the ground especially after the rain. Male butterflies gather here to consume natural salts and other nutrients required for reproduction which may be unavailable in the nectar they feed from flowers.
